THE WORD ON THE STREET WAS FREE

The word on the street
Inspired me to write these
Haiku about “free”

2.

A blue reminder
Challenged me from the pavement
Rattling my bird cage

3.

Freedom is a choice
Or rather it should be one
Most of us ain’t free

4.

Volunteers ain’t “free”
They’re just not on the payroll
Costs are still involved

5.

“Free South Africa”
Was my throwback Thursday chant
That fell on deaf ears

Butterflies are free
They’re escaped catapillars
Fleeing their cocoons
