There’s nothing like fresh powder
Softening urban landscapes.

Fresh snow is pretty
Until you have to shovel-
Then it’s just, “damn snow!”

Snowflakes are falling
Because the lake is warmer
Than the air above.

This phenomenon’s
Known as, “lake effect snow” or
Weatherman’s excuse.
