She practiced pouncing
Springing from beneath the chair
Swatting at my calves.

Her game persisted
Stalking her unwitting prey
Quite relentlessly.
3.
The novice hunter
Stumbled upon her quarry
And, of course, she pounced!
4.
This was the moment
For her feline vigilance
To be rewarded.
