Washington D.C. – Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is the latest powerful man to step down in the wake of the #metoo movement. Reading from a prepared statement, Justice Thomas announced his immediate resignation from the Supreme Court this morning at press conference. After two decades of denying Professor Anita Hill’s allegations of sexual harassment, Justice Thomas admitted that he lied during his confirmation hearings. At the time, then nominee, Thomas characterized the highly publicized hearings as a “high tech lynching” in his passionate testimony. He closed by apologizing to Professor Hill, his family, and the nation for his deception. Justice Thomas did not take any questions. Professor Hill could not be reached for comment.
