WHITESTOWN (a Kwansaba)

“Whitestown”
Proudly painted

On the water tower-
On the all-white… water tower.

Must be a “sundown town.”
Black folks still need

Green Books!

  1. Rachelle Williams says:

Along with the PBS show about travels people from Chicago took in the past, I think we have suffered enough. This is the place we, Black people actually built. The Green Book is yet another artifact that shows the depth of racism in this country. Thanks Poet for reminding us of how little has changed regardless of how people think times have gotten better.
